This is a 1956 Motobecane AV78. I purchased it at the "Always In April" swap meet in Portland Oregon (which might be the biggest swap meet on the west coast). It was in pretty rough shape and hadn't run in many years. We got it running first. Then on to the rebuild! (You can see it on Youtube “1956 Motobecane”.) It took a little over a year to rebuild. I had a lot of help from friends and experts: Van Weld from Verboort Oregon (expert welder); Jeff Trump, metal extraordinaire and friend; Eric Sabatino, Portland premier moped expert; Rick Amrein, mechanical counselor and friend; Amazing Powder Coating from TopCoat-Jason Rowe, Kens custom upholstery; Mark Daniel "British friend" of chainmail-www.mopedland.ukfsn.org/chain/; and 1977 Mopeds, to name a few. It is 49.9cc 1.4hp top speed, maybe 25mph. Always draws a crowd and well liked. Barry :-)
